Housekeeping Worker

Hourly, wage Housekeeping Worker position scheduled to work Monday through Friday approximately 29 hours per week with no fringe benefits.  Position W0036.  Work schedule will be 5:15 p.m. – 11:45 p.m., Monday-Friday.  Hourly rate is $9.89.      

Responsibilities:  General housekeeping and custodial duties to include cleaning rooms (chalkboards/whiteboards) and offices; mopping, vacuuming, dusting and buffing floors; trash removal; cleaning restrooms and windows; and stripping and refinishing floors. Assists with monitoring HVAC system.  Assists faculty, staff and students as needed. May assist with snow removal as needed.  Establishes and maintains effective relationships with students, faculty & staff and other stakeholders important to the college.  Other duties as assigned.  Required to work some holidays.

Qualifications:   Ability to follow safety and security procedures required. Ability to lift and move furniture, supplies and equipment required.  Ability to lift and carry up to fifty pounds required.  Ability to read, write, understand and follow instructions required.   Ability to work without close supervision required.  Ability to maintain a high level of ethics and confidentiality in performance of all job duties required.  Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, faculty & staff and other stakeholders important to the college required. Knowledge of and/or experience in commercial cleaning and ability to operate custodial equipment, including floor buffer, preferred.  High school graduate or GED preferred.
