Plants that Clean Featured in Winter Sale

Post Date:11/30/2017 3:47 PM

A variety of plants included on NASA’s list of top air-filtering houseplants will be available during the “Plants that Clean” winter sale at Virginia Highlands Community College.

The sale will be held at the Treadwell-Jones Greenhouse on the campus of Virginia Highlands Community College from Wednesday, Dec. 13, through Wednesday, Dec. 20. Sale hours will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The plants were chosen for their ability to remove toxic agents from the air which, according to a NASA study, could help neutralize the effects of sick building syndrome. Detailed information about the plants will be available from students, faculty and staff. All proceeds will benefit the VHCC Horticulture Club.
