HVAC students trained in ZoomLock Flame Free Refrigerant Fittings
The Southwest Virginia Chapter of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society at Virginia Highlands Community College on Thursday, January 15 in ISC 130.
Guest speakers from the Parker Hannifin Sporlan Division came to campus from Nashville to train first and second year HVACR students, and other members of the HVAC community, on ZoomLock Flame Free Refrigerant Fittings. This copper tubing connecting method has won innovation awards at major HVACR conferences. Each person at the meeting was able to perform the process to join copper tubing using the ZoomLock method.
This process may prove to be significant in HVACR, because the industry is currently transitioning to some flammable refrigerants. This training provides valuable knowledge to our HVACR students, giving them a hands-on opportunity, that very few contractors have experienced in our area. Having a torch-free method of joining copper tubing when working with flammable refrigerants has numerous benefits.
