VHCC Career Fair Slated for April 27
More than 30 Local Employers Scheduled to Attend
Job seekers from throughout the community are invited to Virginia Highlands Community College on Friday, April 27, to meet with local employers who are actively seeking qualified candidates.
The VHCC Career Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to Noon on the VHCC campus, located just off Exit 14 of Interstate 81. Representatives from more than 30 local companies with positions in the healthcare, manufacturing, information technology, criminal justice, customer service, and food service industries have confirmed plans to attend.
“Our goal is to provide an opportunity for our region’s top employers to meet skilled workers who are actively seeking jobs,” said VHCC Workforce Career Coach Mitzi Williams. “This is a tremendous opportunity for our graduating students who are preparing to enter the workforce and everyone in the community who is interested in learning more about the jobs available in our region.”
Companies that will be represented at the Career Fair include Holston Medical Group, BAE Systems, Samuel Pressure Vessel Group (SPVG), Utility Trailer - Glade Spring, Red Onion State Prison, Electro-Mechanical Co., Maryville Engineering Co. (MEC), Woodgrain Millwork, Chick-fil-A at The Pinnacle, Scholle, Northrop Grumman, Ballad Health, Business Information Systems, Mountain Youth Academy, Utility Trailer – Atkins, AtWork Personnel Services, Southwest Virginia Regional Jail, Drake’s, American Merchant, Abingdon Health and Rehab, Food City, Buchanan County Public Schools, Settler’s Life Insurance Co., Washington County’s Sheriff’s Office, American Merchant Inc., Virginia Department of Transportation, Valley Health Care Center, Teleperformance, General Dynamics, Universal Fiber Inc., Broyles Hospitality, Tadana Mantis Corp, Bristol Virginia Public Schools, GPM Investments, Express Employment, United Healthcare, and WCYB.
