VHCC Now Accepting HVAC Students
New students are now being accepted into the Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating program, a two-year associate’s degree program that will be offered through daytime classes this fall at Virginia Highlands Community College.
Classes begin Aug. 22 and financial aid is still available for those who qualify.
New students are admitted to the day program in even years and into an evening program in odd years. Those pursuing the Associate of Applied Science Degree will have the opportunity to earn EPA and OSHA certifications and take the Industry Competency Exam (ICE), all of which are highly valued by employers in the industry.
Students will learn through classroom instruction and hands-on assignments in VHCC’s 4,500 -square-foot HVAC Lab. Graduates are prepared for jobs as air conditioning, heating and refrigeration technicians; indoor air quality technicians; sales technicians; installers; and service and maintenance technicians.
VHCC also offers a two-year diploma program in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating and a one-year program that leads to a certificate in Refrigeration. Faculty members and academic counselors can assist new students in choosing the program that best meets their personal and career goals.
For additional information about the program, please contact Associate Professor Jim Kroll at (276) 739-2560 or email@example.com.
