A message from president Gene C. Couch, Jr.

I Invite You to Make VHCC Your First Choice!

Dr. Gene CouchAs President of Virginia Highlands Community College, I am so pleased that you are interested in learning more about our college.  This is definitely a special place…with a special promise.

Whether you’re graduating from one of our area’s high schools, making the choice to return to college for better job opportunities, or deciding to finish something you started long ago – I recognize that you have a lot of options about where to pursue your education.  I want VHCC to be your first choice.

I truly believe that VHCC is a high-quality, affordable, and accessible choice for you to pursue short-term training or a two-year technical degree that can take you directly to a job.  It can also be a pathway to a two-year associate’s degree so you can transfer to another college to complete your bachelor’s degree.  Whatever your circumstances, VHCC has a long history of introducing students just like you to a college education – and proudly celebrating every success and achievement right along with you.

Perhaps you’re not a student at all, but a business owner looking for customized training, a community member looking for cultural events or a way to give back, or a person looking for employment opportunities at VHCC.  You’ll be glad to know that VHCC strives to be your first choice in those areas as well.

We hope that our website provides you with the information you need to begin your educational journey at Virginia Highlands.  Also, we invite you to tour our outstanding campus where you will find faculty and staff ready and willing to help you.  If you need additional information about the College, please do not hesitate to contact us at (276)739-2400.

At Virginia Highlands Community College, we are dedicated to student success and committed to excellence.  I hope you will join us at VHCC and experience excellence!

Sincerely,

Gene C. Couch, Jr.
President
