OVERVIEW
In every corner of the Commonwealth, people are eager to find meaningful jobs, and employers are looking for workers with the right skills.

State lawmakers created Virginia’s New Economy Workforce Industry Credential Grants program in 2016 to boost workforce training for specific industry certifications to meet the needs of businesses in each region of the state. In just one year, Virginia’s Community Colleges awarded 2,173 credentials through the workforce grants program.  That’s 2,173 lives forever changed.

As the program enters its second year, community colleges are rolling out a new outreach campaign called FastForward, our new name for the workforce grants program.

Workforce training programs at our community colleges, of course, are open to all Virginians, but the FastForward outreach will target young adults most likely to take advantage of the life-altering job training programs.

FastForward offers a clear path to meaningful careers, providing students with a renewed sense of self and professional fulfillment that comes with turning their lives around.

FastForward Career Coaches at each community college will help participants through the job training process, and even help them prepare for entry into the workforce.

Change your future in weeks, not years.
