Career Alumni Resource

VHCC is excited to offer an opportunity for alumni to assist current students with career information through contact with professionals.  Career Alumni Resource is a forum for alumni and friends of VHCC to exchange information and provide opportunities for students to explore different industries and career issues.  Alumni can become involved in the following ways:

 

• Informational Interviews  • Job Shadowing  • Mentoring  • Mock Interviews • Providing leads on experiential education and jobs  • Assisting with Networking • Serving on career panels

Participate in the scheduled Mock Interview with Alumni Day planned for March 30, 2006 for students to gain practice with the interview process
Conduct a brief information exchange with students by phone, email, or on-site
Provide a half-day/full-day job shadowing experience to a student interested in learning about the environment and a typical day in your profession
Conduct a Mock Interview (at a different time than the scheduled March 30th date) for students to gain practice with the interview process
Offer experiential education (internship, co-op, service learning) opportunities for students seeking work experience
Participate in career panels or classroom presentations relevant to your profession
Be matched up with a VHCC students and serve as a mentor to them providing career guidance and information on your industry
Recruit on campus VHCC students to be employed in your company
