Non-Credit Registration Information

To register for a non-credit class, complete the registration form, enclose your payment, and return to the CBI at least five days prior to the first class meeting. Registrations are processed on a first come, first served basis upon receipt of payment.

Cancellations
The College reserves the right to cancel any course that does not have sufficient enrollment. The decision is usually made two days prior to the first scheduled class meeting and all registrants will be notified promptly. A full refund is processed automatically. To help prevent cancellations, please register at least five days before a course is scheduled to begin.

Senior Citizens
In non-credit classes, senior citizens (60 years of age or above) may register in a non-credit course, tuition free, on a space available basis. In the case of a class that has insufficient paying enrollment, all senior citizens will be required to pay the full tuition for the class.

Refund Policy
In non-credit classes, full refunds will be given if a course is cancelled or if a student withdraws three days prior to the course. In order to receive a refund, request can be made in writing, by phone (276-739-2430), or in person.

Non-credit prices are listed beside each course and are for one class participant. They do not include course materials charges or supplies which vary with each class.

Safety

OSHA Certification (10 hr.) - Monday & Tuesday, February 11 & 12 Cost: $225 CEU’s: .9

This 10-hour program is intended to provide instruction on a variety of general industry safety and health standard for workers. Those who complete the course will be awarded an OSHA certification card.

OSHA Certification (20 hr.) - Mondays & Tuesdays, February 18-26 Cost: $450 CEU’s: 1.8

This 20-hour program is a follow-up to the 10-hour OSHA course and when combined with that course, will meet the 30-hour OSHA Certification card requirements. The 10-hour OSHA course is a prerequisite for this course.

OSHA Certification (Construction) 10 hr. - Saturday, March 8 Cost: $225 CEU’s: .9

This course is designed to meet the requirements of OSHA for their 10 hour certification in construction. The instructor is authorized by OSHA to present the class and will provide course completion cards. Individual OSHA subjects will be covered that are relevant to working in the construction industry.

OSHA Documentation/Recordkeeping - Friday, January 18 Cost: $49 CEU’s: .25

This three hour class is designed to assist you with your annual OSHA accident and illness report. The class consists of lecture with PowerPoint, handouts, OSHA 300 form exercises that contain scenarios, annual posting requirements and a question and answer session.

OSHA Review for Supervisors - Monday, March 17 Cost: $49 CEU’s: .25

This three hour class was designed with busy supervisors in mind. This 3 hour class provides highlights from the OSHA 30 hour certification--the most important safety matter supervisors should be aware of on a daily basis. Topics include: Daily Inspections, Accidents Investigation/Reporting, Walkways/Exits, Ladders, Noise, Hazard Communication, Personal Protective Equipment, Fire Prevention/Fire Fighting, Machine Guarding.
