The mission of the Center for Business and Industry is to establish and deliver a total program for retraining, job-specific training, and pre-employment training to foster and promote area economic development. Additionally, community service activities and programs are scheduled to complement these training opportunities.

Southwest Virginia Local Government Institue June 11, 2008

The Center for Business & Industry at Virginia Highlands Community College in partnership with the Virginia Institute of Government and Mount Rogers Planning District is proud to present the Inaugural Southwest Virginia Local Government Institute on June 11, 2008. Please join us for a day designed to assist your professional development as a local government official or employee. Experts from across the Commonwealth in the areas of planning and economic development will present workshops requested by you and your peers in a recent survey. This day has truly been designed by you . . . for you.

We are pleased to present our first Institute at a greatly reduced cost through grant funds provided by the Virginia Community College System. The cost per person is $25 for the entire day and includes all meals. Advanced registration is required due to limited space.
