Students are typically administratively withdrawn if they have not completed at least 60% of the work done by the last drop date. This is to prevent students whose patterns of work and performance indicate a high probability that they will not pass the course.
In a typical course with four tests, this means that a student should have made a passing grade on the first test. If the course includes labs, a passing average the corresponding lab grades would be included. In a course with 6 tests, at least two of the test should have been completed and passed.
Students can be reinstated in the course:
If a student is reinstated, then it is no longer possible for that student to receive a W for the course. Under the appropriate circumstances, a student would be given an Incomplete and an extension of time to complete the course. If a student is resinstated, the instructor will provide a clear statement of what is required to receive at least an Incomplete. The requirements for completion of the course are spelled out in the Course of Study.
If you believe you have been withdrawn inappropriately, please state in the box below what work you have completed and your work will be reviewed; if you have completed sufficient work you will be reinstated.
If you have not completed the required work but wish to be reinstated, please state why you believe you will now be able to complete your work.
If you wish to be reinstated, please state in your own words that you understand that if reinstated you will not be able to receive a W in the course:
