The Virginia Highlands
Community College Educational Talent Search Program has served
students of the VHCC service region of Southwest Virginia since 1994. Educational Talent
Search is part of the federal TRIO programs.
The goal of VHCC Educational Talent
Search is to provide training and information to middle and high
school students that prepares them to make good decisions about
their post-high school plans. We encourage students to continue
their education beyond the high school level and provide on-going
support and advisement.
We serve the middle and high
schools in Bristol Virginia,
Washington County, Virginia and Chilhowie and Northwood schools in
Smyth County, Virginia. Approximately seven hundred students participate in the
program each year.
This web site is particularly
intended to help students already enrolled in Talent Search stay
up-to-date about meetings and upcoming events. In addition,
with this web site we hope to inform members of the public about our
program and services.
Along with Educational Talent
Search, VHCC also sponsors
Upward Bound and
Project EXCEL
TRIO programs. |
