AIMS Higher Scholarship
AIMS Higher provides funding for 2008 high school graduates who do not receive enough financial aid to cover the full cost of tuition and fees. Students who receive AIMS Higher funding must remain full-time students during each fall and spring semester, beginning with Fall 2008, and complete their coursework within two years. In addition, to continue receiving AIMS Higher funding while enrolled at VHCC, students must maintain a 2.75 GPA and meet all other academic standards required for financial aid recipients. These guidelines are outlined in the VHCC catalog. All AIMS Higher recipients also must complete 20 hours of community service per year while enrolled at VHCC.
How to Apply for the AIMS Higher Scholarship

2. Pick up or Download an Application |
Available through the VHCC Financial Aid Office, Career
Coaches, guidance counselors and at financial aid

3. Complete Financial Aid |
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA) and include VHCC as a school. The FAFSA must be on file with VHCC Office of Student Financial Aid by May 1, 2008 |

4. Submit the complete application to your high school guidance couselor. |

5. Scholarships |
The AIMS Higher Scholarship will be awarded by June 1 and students will be notified by July 1, 2008. |
AIMS Higher Scholarships are funded through a grant from the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission and are subject to the availability of funds.
