The VHCC Greenhouse Facility is composed of two
gutter-connected aluminum-framed greenhouses that provide over 3,500 square
feet under glass. Each greenhouse is approximately 25'-0" wide by 73'-0"
long with a gutter height of 12'-0". One greenhouse is divided into three
(3) compartments, (2) 31'-4" long greenhouse zones and (1) 10'-3 3/4" long
corridor. The greenhouse is to sit atop a 2'-6" brick/concrete kneewall. The
largest greenhouse serves as an indoor garden with approximately 1,800
square feet of growing area.

Specifications
- Furnish and install two aluminum gutter-connected greenhouses. Greenhouse structure
including all required columns, trusses on 10'-3 3/4" centers, roof at a
6/12 pitch, purlins, anchor bolts, fasteners and accessories.
- Aluminum glazing system including gutters, ridges, wall and vent sills, glazing
bars, bar caps and glazing compounds. All aluminum to be mill finish.
- Glazing includes 1/8" lapped tempered clear glass. Glazing bars on 24
3/4" centers.
- Double motorized automatic ridge vents with (8) vent motors and gable end vent
with one (1) vent motor. Vents to have rack and pinions and drive shaft. Vents
shall be continuous within the partitioned areas with socket hinge made up of
top rail, bottom rail and mullions of extruded aluminum. Electrical connections
by others.
- Six (6) exhaust fans, with high efficiency totally enclosed motors, cast aluminum
propeller blades, formed fiberglass housing and exhaust cone, inlet and outlet
guards of PVC coated wire mesh, and motorized aluminum shutters. Electrical connections
by others.
- Six (6) horizontal air flow fans for internal greenhouse compartment air circulation.

- Hot water heating system, radiation aluminum fin tube by Delta-T, including
four (4) perimeter fin tube and in-slab heating system zones, with all necessary
fin tubing, zone control, automatic control valve, three-way control valve and
expanded metal mesh fin tube covers in low zones. Installation of hot water heating
system to be completed in phases, Phase I to include the floor heat and Phase
II to include main line piping and fin tube installation.
- Boiler package by Delta-T consisting of a boiler with a primary pump, flow
control valve, and air and water controls, valves and venting. Hook up by others.
All gas, water and electric connections to boiler by others.
- Aluminum doors and framing, (6) single doors, 1 3/4" x 3'-0" x 6'-8" and
(1) double doors, 1 3/4" x 6'-0" x 6'-8". Hardware including stainless
steel hinges with non-removable pins, lever handle lockset, door closer, aluminum
threshold and door sweep. Upper panels glazed with 1/4" clear safety glazing
and lower panels aluminum faced.
- Three (3) wet pad evaporative cooling systems, consisting of 6" thick
pads, PVC distributor pipe, aluminum deflectors and PVC return gutters, PVC end
panels, standard plumbing package, submersible pump. Self-contained PVC system
shall include a containment sump utilizing a 15" PVC tank connected to the
collection trough. Two of the systems are approximately 3'-0" tall x 12'-0" long
and one system is approximately 4'-0" tall x 18'-0" long. Electrical

- Motorized aluminum shutters covering the evaporative cooling pads in corridor.
