In 2003 Lawrence Cox appears in the “Images of Washington County” magazine discussing the need for a Horticulture curriculum at VHCC. He graduated from VHCC in May 2004 and is studying Horticulture at Virginia Tech.
In January 2004 Lance Yates represents VHCC in Richmond for the VCCS initiative, “Everyday is Community College Day.”
A photograph including Tim Lowe appears in the July 25, 2004
issue of The Washington Post Magazine. Tim previously worked at the American
Chestnut Foundation’s Wagner Research Farm in Meadowview, Virginia.
Tim graduated from VHCC in May 2005 and is currently working at the Holston
Hills Country Club Golf Course in Marion.

Zeb James owns and operates his own landscaping, lawn care, and maintenance business called "LawnScapes" in Mountain City, Tennessee. He graduated from VHCC in 2004 and is currently attending Tennessee Tech University, majoring in agriculture with specialization in education. He is scheduled to graduate from TTU in December 2006.
Candy Knepper graduated from VHCC in May 2005 and works in the garden center at Lowe’s in Richlands, VA.
Miranda Waddell, as a transfer student in Science, received the Floyd Royce Farnham Scholarship Award in 2005. She graduated from VHCC in May 2005 and is currently studying Horticulture and Mathematics at Virginia Tech.
Tai McClellan graduated from VHCC in August 2005 and is currently studying Tropical Horticulture at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu.
Derek Rhea graduated from VHCC in December 2005 and is
currently working in turfgrass management as the Assistant Superintendent of
Holston Hills Country Club Golf Course in Marion.
Wes Wyatt receives the W.W. Williamson Memorial Scholarship Award in April
2006. Wes is studying turfgrass management at VHCC.
Roben McCullough graduates from VHCC in May 2006 with a degree in
Horticulture Technology. She and her family will soon be moving to
Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley.
Jerry Taylor graduates from VHCC in May 2006 with a specialization in
Turfgrass Management. Jerry works in golf course management at The Bristol
Country Club.
Brandon Collins graduates from VHCC in May 2006 with a degree in
Horticulture Technology. Brandon plans to study Agriculture & Extension
Education at Virginia Tech.
