EXAMPLES
John J. Smith is a classified staff employee and a VSDP participant. He works in the Imaginary Department and is supervised by Jane S. Jones. His normal working hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break.
Example 1: Mr. Smith had a dental appointment on February 28 and had to leave work at 3:00 p.m.

Example 2: On March 3 Mr. Smith had a follow-up dental appointment and had to leave work at 3:30 p.m. On March 6 he was required to work 1 hour past his normal quitting time in order to meet a deadline.

Example 3: On March 16 Mr. Smith was required to work 2 hours past his normal quitting time in order to meet a deadline.

Example 4: On March 20 the college was closed for snow until 5:00 p.m. On March 21 the college was closed for snow from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. On March 22 the college was on a snow schedule. (See College Schedule Changes.)
