Become a Master Mind Through Self Reflection

Susan Hampton will explore how teachers, administrators, and students can unlock the key to excellence through self-reflective practices in her keynote address. She is a graduate of Abingdon High School, King University and Radford University. She taught language arts and video production at Virginia Middle School (VMS) for 12 years before moving to Washington Lee Elementary, where she now teaches 3rd grade language arts. During her years at VMS, she was twice honored with the distinction of VMS Teacher of the Year. Susan is a teacher consultant and presenter for the Appalachian Writing Project, a national trainer for Time to Teach, and a National Board Certified teacher in Early Adolescent English Language Arts. Over the years, she has served on several advisory committees, including King University’s Educational Advisory Committee, BVPS Technology Committee, and VMS School Improvement Committee. In 2013, Susan received the McGlothlin Award for Teaching Excellence at the secondary level.
