Building Wardens are expected to: Ensure that an emergency evacuation plan is in place for their assigned building and/or floor. To include but not limited to the following:

Ensure that building evacuation routes and charts are posted near exits.
Be familiar with all exits out of a building.
Have knowledge of assigned assembly points for building evacuees.
Have a contingency plan for evacuation of person with physical disabilities.
At the assembly point, provide information between Emergency Management Team (EMT) and evacuees, and prevent reentry into the building until the all clear has been given.
Serve as liaison to the Emergency Management Team (EMT).
During an evacuation, maintain a record of all personnel reporting to the assembly area.
Initiate the college’s Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) when appropriate or when instructed by the EMT.
Review lessons learned from incidents and drills with faculty and staff.
Schedule and conduct your own building emergency drills if necessary to learn emergency plans.
