VHCC is proud to offer free tutoring services to all VHCC students. Tutoring is most often requested in math, biology, chemistry, accounting and English, but VHCC also offers help in many other subjects upon request. To qualify for this free service, students must be enrolled in that course on campus, online, or through the Dual Enrollment Program.
Face-to-face tutoring is available in the VHCC Tutoring Center located adjacent to the Learning Lab within the VHCC Library. One-hour sessions are available by appointment for individual or group tutoring. The Tutoring Center is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Online tutoring is offered through a VHCC partnership with Smarthinking, an online tutoring service that is available anywhere, anytime.
To request tutoring, please complete the Request for Tutoring form or visit the VHCC Tutoring Center or contact Tutor Coordinator Stacey Dorton at (276) 739-2583 or email@example.com to request an on-campus tutoring session or to enroll in online tutoring through Smarthinking.
*The Learning Resources Center (LRC) is closed this summer for renovations to the heating/cooling system. As a result, several campus offices have been temporarily relocated. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
The Tutoring Center will be relocated to the Pool Room in the ISC Building.
The LRC building will be closed Wednesday, May 21 - mid September.
