*In-state and 30 mile reciprocal tuition rates reflect a $2 per credit hour reduction associated with federal ARRA stimulus dollars for 2010-11.

Students who register concurrently for summer and fall classes, but pay for summer classes only and subsequently withdraw (drop) summer classes within the appropriate refund period; refund amounts will redirect to fall semester charges. Redirection of the refund amount is a function of simultaneous registration.

Special Tuition Rates
Through a special agreement with the state of Tennessee, a reduced rate of tuition has been established for students who live within 30 miles of the VHCC campus. Special rates also are available for foster care students, senior citizens, those whose parents live outside the state but work within Virginia, the children and spouses of active-duty members of the military, and those whose parents were killed, disabled, missing in action, or prisoners during any armed conflict.

Please contact the Office of Financial Aid or refer to the VHCC Catalog for more information about these special rates.

Fees
The tuition rates listed above include both a Technology Fee and a Student Activity Fee. The Technology Fee of $5.50 per credit hour is set by the State Board for Community Colleges, and is used to equip student computer labs and provide other technology improvements on campus. The Student Activity Fee of $1 per credit hour is used to fund a variety of extracurricular activities throughout the year.

For additional information about these fees, please refer to the Student Activity Fee Report.
