These committees have been organized to advise College representatives in several areas of interest. Generally, they represent non-curricular areas of the College, and are especially concerned with the ways in which these areas serve the total community. The five Special Advisory Committees of the College are as follows: Arts Advisory Committee Purpose: This committee is charged with advising the Vice President of Instruction and Student Services and the Dean of the Division of Business, Humanities and Social Sciences, regarding matters pertaining to VHCC's curricular and non-curricular programs and offerings in theatre, music, films, literature, dance and visual arts. Workforce Training and Continuing Education Advisory Committee Purpose: This committee is charged with advising the President and Dean of Workforce Training and Continuing Education Advisory Committee regarding all program areas within the College's Workforce Training and Continuing Education Advisory Committee which includes Continuing Education, Cooperative Education and the Small Business Development Center and to guide the course of the Workforce Training and Continuing Education Advisory Committee to help maximize services to business and industry. Educational Talent Search Advisory Committee Purpose: This committee is charged with advising the Vice President of Instruction and Student Services and the Talent Search Director regarding all aspects of the VHCC Educational Talent Search Program, including program recruitment, promotion, and evaluation. Landscape and Horticulture Curriculum Advisory Committee Purpose: This committee is charged with advising the Vice President of Instruction and Student Services and other college officials on matters relevant to the outdoor environment of the campus. Multi-Cultural Admissions Advisory Committee Purpose: This committee is charged with advising the Vice President of Instruction and Student Services and other college officials in matters involving minority admissions and other concerns relative to the College's mission to serve the educational and cultural needs of the community.
