VHCC to Host Affordable Healthcare Act Information, Enrollment Session
Posted Date: 1/24/2014
Community members interested in receiving information about the federal Affordable Care Act and free, one-on-one enrollment assistance are invited to attend a public session at Virginia Highlands Community College on Monday, February 10, at 2 p.m.

Information will be presented by the Southwest Virginia Community Health Systems Inc., a non-profit agency dedicated to providing unbiased and impartial information about the current health insurance marketplace. The services are funded through a grant from the Department of Health Resources and Services Administration. No appointment is necessary.

All community members are invited, said SVCHS Outreach & Enrollment Coordinator Monica Hall, adding that the session will be especially helpful to those who don’t have insurance, aren’t insured by their employer, are self-employed, and those who have pre-existing conditions that may have prevented them from getting insurance in the past. Those who would like enrollment assistance should bring a list of social security numbers and birthdates for all family members who will be enrolled and an estimate of their 2014 income.

The session will be held in the Keyser-Aday Theatre in the Learning Resource Center (LRC) on the VHCC campus.
