Joseph C. Straten of Glade Spring has been awarded a President’s Lifetime Achievement Award signed by President Obama for completing more than 4,000 hours of volunteer service. Straten currently serves as Chair of the Virginia Highlands Community College Board and is former Chair of the Washington County Board of Supervisors.
