Positions Currently Available

Part-time position of up to 30 hours per week. Hourly rate is depending upon qualifications. Grant funded hourly position with no fringe benefits.

Qualifications:

• Current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required, MSN preferred.
• Two years recent, related clinical experience required (Recent Med/Surg clinical experience preferred).
• Proficient with computer technology, including use of a PC and relevant software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Evidence of ability to facilitate, write, and program simulations into the computer.
• Candidates must be proficient in oral and written communication in the English language.

Responsibilities:

• Participate and work with simulation lab coordinator and nursing faculty in the development, implementation, and integration of simulations in the curriculum.
• Serve as faculty to students in teaching scenario/learning situations of nursing skills, simulations, and debriefing sessions.
• Work varied days, Monday through Saturday.
• Assist simulation lab coordinator in activities related to training faculty, support staff and students in simulation technology.
• Provide instructional support in the simulation lab for students and faculty to improve competencies and skills in meeting the course objectives.
• Collect data related to evaluation of the effectiveness of simulation technology.
• Identify and implement current developments in simulation technology and learning theory.
• Assist simulation lab coordinator in activities related to maintaining and updating the simulation lab inventories and maintaining of supplies, anticipating supplies needed for courses before course and get supplies, maintaining operation of the manikins and equipment, and keeping the lab neat and organized.
• Assist simulation lab coordinator in activities related to maintaining records of all simulation activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Pursue professional growth and development activities in nursing education.
