General Information

You must have a bar coded identification card with you to check out materials as well as to use reserve materials and back issues of magazines. Identification cards are issued to students, faculty, and community patrons. There is no charge to any user for the first library card. Lost cards will be replaced after payment of fee.

Fines

The following schedule of fines is established for any overdue materials and equipment: 25 cents per day per item for books, cassettes, magazines, etc. The maximum regular fine is 5 dollars. 2 dollars per day (or portion thereof) per item for reserve, timed overnight material or equipment, or special circulations. The maximum special fine is 15 dollars.

Off Campus Access to Paid Databases

Off-campus access to licensed databases is restricted to faculty, staff and currently enrolled students of VHCC. The paid/licensed databases are found in Databases A-Z and Subject Guides. Instructions are given below.

Select the database you want from Databases A-Z or Subject Guides.
Enter your user name and password when prompted.
- Your username and password is the same as used for Blackboard and email.
- Your user name will be what appears before the @ only.
