Welcome to M. Kevin Hamed and Highlands Student Research

My research is focused on the ecology and conservation biology of amphibians, fishes, and small mammals. My past research investigated the life history of the Tennessee dace (Phoxinus tennesseensis). Other projects investigated the distribution of the least weasel (Mustela nivalis) in Tennessee and the impact of bottle and can litter along forest service roads on small mammals. Currently, my students are assisting me in research directed toward Southern Appalachian amphibians.
