PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY
Criteria for enrollment in the VHCC Project Excel Program.

1.  An eligible student must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a program of study at VHCC.

2.  An eligible student meets the federal low-income criteria.

3.  An eligible student is a first-generation college students (neither parent has a 4 year college degree).

4.  An eligible student has a documented disabilities.

5. All eligible students have evident academic need for assistance.

5. Eligible students are enrolled in one of the following curricula:  General Studies, Liberal Arts, Science, Education, Business Administration, General Engineering Technology, Drafting and Design, Police Science, Human Services, Electronics Engineering Technology, Nursing, Accounting, Business Technology, Information Systems Technology, Physical Therapist Assistant, or Radiology.

Project EXCEL serves 210 students every year.

Two-thirds of the participants in any SSS project must be either disabled or potential first-generation college students from low-income families. One-third of the disabled participants must also be low-income students.

Additionally, you must be a U.S. citizen.
