Students Gain Siemens Mechatronics Certification
Virginia Highlands Community College students who took the Siemens Mechatronics Systems Certification Level I earlier this week have achieved a 100 percent pass rate.
Eight community members prepared for the exam through a non-credit course offered through the VHCC Division of Workforce Development and Continuing Education. Three others were enrolled in a credit Mechatronics program offered through VHCC’s Division of Professional and Technical Studies. All 11 gained certification.
Siemens Certified Instructors Joe Mitchell, Will Soyars, and Donnie Melvin prepared students for the exam.
The industry-recognized credential is highly sought by those responsible for electrical maintenance, particularly in the manufacturing industry. Those preparing for the exam must complete a comprehensive curriculum that includes hands-on instruction in mechanical, electrical and computer systems.
The next non-credit course to prepare students for Siemens Mechatronics Systems Certification Level 1 will begin August 3, from 5-9:30 p.m., on theVHCC campus.
