VHCC is proud to extend free academic mentoring to all VHCC students through the Moose Academic Resource Center. This is another way to ensure academic success for all students. Mentoring is most often requested in math, biology, chemistry, ITE, and English, but VHCC also offers help in many other subjects upon request. To qualify for this free service, students must be enrolled in a course on campus, online, or through the Dual Enrollment Program.
Face-to-face mentoring is available in the MARC located adjacent to the Learning Lab within the VHCC Library. One-hour sessions are available by appointment or on a walk-in basis for individual or group mentoring.
Summer 2019 Mentoring Center Hours:
Monday-Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: Closed
Online tutoring is offered through a VHCC partnership with a statewide tutoring service called Brainfuse (linked through Canvas). It is available anywhere, anytime. Students can also access our in-house mentors through Brainfuse in the "Tutor Match" function. There, they can chat with our mentors electronically or set up appointments for in-person or online help with them.
To request mentoring, please visit the VHCC MARC or contact the Academic Mentor Coordinator, Julianna Jones, to request an on-campus mentoring session or to enroll in online mentoring through Brainfuse.
