Technical Studies in Early Childhood Development - Level 3 - Associate of Applied Science

If you think you might enjoy a career working with young children, this may be the program for you. This program builds upon knowledge gained from completion of the Early Childhood Education and Advanced Early Childhood Education Career Studies Certificates, which are prerequisites to this program. Early childhood professionals promote cognitive, emotional, and physical development in children. You will learn about health, safety and nutrition of children, growth and development, appropriate child observation and assessment and effective interactions with children. Also, you will become familiar with program management, teacher qualifications and professional development. All courses are approved by the Virginia Child Care Provider Scholarship Program and applicable to the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. While completing this degree, you will also complete Career Studies Certificates in Early Childhood Education and Advanced Early Childhood Education.
