Keith Perrigan, Ed.D.

Education

Dr. Perrigan enrolled at VHCC in 1991, then transferred to the University of Virginia’s College at Wise. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history and later completed a master’s in Educational Leadership from Radford University and a doctorate in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from Virginia Tech.

Career

He began his career in education as a teacher at Abingdon High School, then moved into administrative roles, serving as an assistant principal and principal in Washington County. He was named superintendent of Norton City Schools in 2014 and served in that capacity until being selected as superintendent of Bristol City Schools earlier this year.

Awards & Personal Life

Dr. Perrigan has contributed his expertise to a wide variety of state and local committees and is active in Little League, his church, and the Norton Kiwanis Club. He was formerly a licensed professional wrestler and a participant with the Army Golden Knights Jump Team. Both his wife, Amy, and mother, Lois, are graduates of VHCC. He and his mother attended VHCC at the same time and were classmates in Klell Napps religion class.
