NCCER Core Craft Skills


This entry-level course provides foundational knowledge and hands-on skills for students interested in construction and skilled trades. NCCER Core is a nationally recognized curriculum that serves as the foundation for NCCER craft-specific training, including Carpentry, Plumbing, Heavy Equipment Operator, and other skilled trades.

Through classroom instruction and supervised hands-on activities, students will develop essential skills in construction safety, construction math, hand and power tools, construction drawings, basic rigging, communication, employability skills, and materials handling.

Students who successfully complete all required NCCER module assessments and performance tasks will earn the NCCER Core credential. This credential provides a foundation for continued NCCER craft-specific training and entry-level employment and apprenticeship opportunities in the skilled trades.

Course Fee: $1,098 for an out-of-state student, $366 for a Virginia resident, and $0 for a student who qualifies for financial assistance.
